United Kingdom
City pages we have actually written.
Each page is written for that place. Where we have a council extract, the Food Standards Agency figures are on the page, with the pull date.
Written for the place, not a swapped city name
Southend-on-Sea is first because a launch partner, The Polash in Shoeburyness, trades there. The other pages use their own copy. Food hygiene counts are from the Food Standards Agency open data, pulled on 19 October 2026. London uses the 33-council total, because the FSA list is split by borough. If your town is not listed, the product is still the same UK offer: three months free, then £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe per location excluding VAT, with no commission on the order.
Southend-on-Sea
Essex
Southend-on-Sea is not one high street with one delivery circle. A kitchen on the seafront, a shop in Westcliff, a restaurant in Leigh-on-Sea and a takeaway in Shoeburyness are serving different streets, and the weekend does not look like a wet Tuesday. Chefzi is the ordering site and the kitchen app for that independent restaurant: collection, your own drivers, and 0% commission on the order.
London
Greater London
London has 9,438 FSA-registered takeaways across 33 councils. 56.7% of rated takeaways are a 5, against 61.9% in England.
Birmingham
West Midlands
Birmingham’s independent food trade is not one cuisine and not one street. Balti houses around Ladypool Road and Stoney Lane sit alongside city-centre kitchens, chicken and pizza shops, and dessert places that do most of their trade after dark. The ordering page has to cope with a long menu on a phone, and the kitchen has to hear the ticket.
Manchester
Greater Manchester
Manchester’s food streets are dense in different ways. The Curry Mile in Rusholme is a run of competing menus. The Northern Quarter is collection and late covers. Further out, Salford, Didsbury and Stockport are delivery decisions, not slogans. Chefzi is the direct lane beside whatever marketplaces you already use.
Leeds
West Yorkshire
Leeds takeaway trade bends around the universities and then around everyone else. Headingley and Hyde Park are busy in term, and quieter when the students leave. The city centre wants collection. Neighbourhoods further out still expect a driver. A commission percentage is painful in the busy weeks and still painful in the quiet ones. A flat monthly fee is the same number in July as in October.
Glasgow
Scotland
Glasgow has 1,118 FSA-registered takeaways. FHIS results, late hours catering and delivery zones.
Edinburgh
Scotland
688 takeaways and 1,974 restaurants and cafés in Edinburgh, with FHIS results and delivery zones.
Liverpool
North West
733 takeaways in Liverpool. 35% are still awaiting a first hygiene rating.
Sheffield
Yorkshire and Humberside
Sheffield's 610 takeaways are mostly suburban, from S5 to S35.
Bristol
South West
Bristol has about 3.5 restaurants and cafés for each takeaway on the FSA register.
Leicester
East Midlands
Leicester packs 598 takeaways into five postcode districts.
Nottingham
East Midlands
Nottingham takeaway hygiene from the FSA extract, with delivery zones and licensing pointers.
Newcastle
North East
Newcastle's 279 takeaways cluster in NE6 and NE1.
Cardiff
Wales
Cardiff has 279 FSA-registered takeaways. In Wales the rating must be displayed, and printed menus that take orders need a bilingual statement.
Belfast
Northern Ireland
Belfast has 410 FSA-registered takeaways, spread across 18 BT districts, and hygiene stickers must be displayed by law.
Coventry
West Midlands
Coventry has 477 FSA-registered takeaways against 570 restaurants and cafés, and 131 are still awaiting a first hygiene inspection.
Bradford
West Yorkshire
The Bradford district runs from the city out to Shipley, Bingley, Keighley and Ilkley, with 699 takeaways on the FSA register.
Brighton and Hove
East Sussex
Brighton and Hove has 1,012 restaurants and cafés and 255 takeaways, and 77.9% of rated takeaways are a 5.
Southampton
Hampshire
Every one of Southampton’s 223 FSA-registered takeaways sits within 3 miles of the centre point, with the Itchen splitting the east bank.
Huddersfield
Kirklees
Kirklees covers Huddersfield, Dewsbury, Batley and the valleys, with 578 takeaways and only 41% within 3 miles of the centre point.
