Questions

Can I change my hours for Ramadan?

Can I take big Eid tray orders in advance?

Yes. Add tray items and accept pre-orders for a requested collection time.

Do you take commission on delivery orders?

No. 0% commission on every plan; you use your own drivers and set your own delivery fee.

What does it cost?

£39 a month per location billed annually (£49 if billed monthly), ex VAT, everything included, first month free.

Why halal customers order direct

Customers who eat halal often check a restaurant carefully before they order: where the meat comes from, whether anything contains alcohol, and whether halal and non-halal items are kept apart. On a marketplace that information is squeezed into one line. On your own Chefzi page you decide what to say and where it sits, and the customer reads it before they pay. Once they trust you, they reorder from your link.

Your halal status, in your own words

Chefzi does not certify food and does not add a halal badge for you. You write your own statement, for example "All our meat is halal, supplied by [your supplier]" or "Chicken and lamb are halal; we do not serve pork or alcohol", and put it at the top of your menu and in the description of any dish. If you hold certification from a body such as HMC or HFA, name it and link your certificate. If only part of the menu is halal, say so dish by dish. Only claim what you can prove: a false halal claim can be treated as misleading by trading standards.

Menu notes that answer the usual questions

Add short notes to dishes: halal, contains alcohol (a sauce or a dessert), vegetarian, vegan, and the 14 allergens. If you use separate fryers or grills, say so in the description. Customers read it on the menu instead of ringing you.

Grills, curries, burgers and shawarma on one menu

A UK halal takeaway rarely sells one cuisine. Group peri-peri chicken, burgers, lamb chops, biryani and wraps into categories, set options such as quarter, half or whole chicken, add sauces and sides, and build meal deals with a drink. Required options stop half-built orders, and every choice is on the kitchen ticket.

Ramadan, iftar and Eid

Ramadan changes your week. Update your opening hours before the month starts, add a Ramadan specials category for iftar boxes and family platters, and take pre-orders for a requested collection time so food is ready when the fast ends. For Eid, add tray items and take orders ahead. When the month ends, set your hours back.

Late nights and weekends

Many halal takeaways are busiest late on Friday and Saturday. Set your own last-order time, turn delivery off and keep collection open when drivers are stretched, pause ordering when the queue is long, and mark dishes out of stock when the lamb runs out. Hot food sold between 11pm and 5am in England and Wales needs a late night refreshment licence.

Collection and delivery

Offer collection, delivery in the zones you choose, or both, with a fee and a minimum order for each zone. You use your own drivers, so there is no platform cut on delivery orders.

One plan: £39 a month per location billed annually, or £49 if billed monthly (ex VAT), with 0% commission ever and the first month free. Your own domain is included. Your own branded app (Android & iOS) is included. There is no commission on any plan.
