Persian food is built around rice. A koobideh or joojeh kebab arrives on a mound of saffron rice, often with grilled tomato and a choice of sides, and the stews (khoresh) change through the week. Persian takeaways and restaurants across the UK can take all of that online with Chefzi, on their own website and with no commission.
Setting up kebab plates
Most online orders are kebab plates, so structure them as the kitchen plates them:
- Kebab. Koobideh (minced lamb or beef), joojeh (saffron chicken), barg, chenjeh or a vegetarian option. Offer one or two skewers as a choice.
- Rice. Saffron chelow rice as standard, with zereshk polo (barberry rice), baghali polo or salad as choices, and a price on any upgrade.
- On the plate. Grilled tomato, butter for the rice and sumac can be listed as included so customers know what comes with it.
- Extra skewers as paid extras, so a hungry customer adds one rather than ordering a second plate.
Write the Persian name with a short English explanation, for example "Joojeh (saffron and lemon chicken)". New customers order with confidence, and regulars still see the names they know.
Stews by the day
Ghormeh sabzi, gheymeh and fesenjan are slow-cooked and many kitchens make them on set days. Mark each stew available only on its days, and unavailable when the pot is finished. Customers then see a menu that matches what is actually in the kitchen.
Tahdig, starters and sides
Tahdig, the crisp rice from the bottom of the pot, is popular and limited. Sell it as a small paid add-on and mark it sold out when it runs out. Mast-o-khiar, kashk-e bademjan, mirza ghasemi, shirazi salad and fresh bread are easy additions at checkout.
Nowruz and family orders
Nowruz, in March, brings large family orders of sabzi polo with fish and kuku sabzi. Customers can use scheduled orders to book a collection or delivery time days ahead, which lets you plan rice and fish quantities. Party trays of mixed kebabs and rice work well as fixed bundles with a minimum order.
Delivery and collection
With Chefzi online ordering features, you draw delivery zones on a map and set a fee and minimum order for each. Rice dishes travel well, so many Persian kitchens deliver further than a pizza shop would. Set prep times that reflect how long kebabs take on the grill at busy times.
Drinks and desserts
Doogh, Persian tea, saffron ice cream (bastani) and faloodeh are natural add-ons. Offer them at checkout so customers see them after choosing their main.
Till and kitchen
Chefzi POS is a free browser till included with your plan. Walk-in, phone and web orders go into one queue, so the grill team sees every skewer in one place. It runs on a tablet, laptop or phone you already own.
Allergens
Butter on rice and yoghurt dips contain milk, fesenjan contains walnuts, and bread contains gluten. Write allergens on each dish and on extras that add them, and keep a phone number on the page for allergy questions.
Getting more direct orders
- Add your order link to your Google Business Profile and Instagram.
- Print the web address on bags and menus.
- Send a message to regulars on the days you cook their favourite stew.
Pricing and moving over
Chefzi is £39 a month per location billed annually (£49 if billed monthly) with everything included (excluding VAT). Orders are unlimited on every plan, with 0% commission and no setup fee. We move your menu from any provider for free. GloriaFood closes on 30 April 2027. See Chefzi pricing.

A typical order, step by step
A customer orders two koobideh plates with saffron rice, one joojeh with zereshk polo, a portion of tahdig, mast-o-khiar and a ghormeh sabzi because it is on today, and picks delivery for 8pm. The ticket lists skewers, rice choices and the stew separately, so the grill and the rice station work in parallel.
Before you go live
- List which stews you cook on which days.
- Decide how many portions of tahdig you can sell each night.
- Agree upgrade prices for each rice choice, so they are the same on every plate.
- Check that every kebab plate says what is included, such as grilled tomato and butter.
Popular UK areas: London, Manchester, Birmingham and Leeds.
Frequently asked questions
Can customers choose the rice with each kebab?
Yes. Add a required rice choice, such as saffron rice, zereshk polo or salad instead, with a price on any upgrade.
Can I show stews only on certain days?
Yes. Mark a stew available on the days you cook it and unavailable on the others, from the till or the menu editor.
Can I sell kebabs by the skewer?
Yes. Offer one or two skewers as a choice so the price follows the number chosen, and add extra skewers as paid extras.
