Just Eat, Deliveroo and Uber Eats commission calculator (UK)
Work out what Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo cost you each month, using their published UK rates or your own statement, with VAT shown separately.
Rates checked 19 October 2026 against each platform's published UK pages. Just Eat's 14% and 30% are the figures reported on the partner sign-up page. A direct fetch of that page was blocked on 19 October 2026.
Type in how many orders you take through the apps each month and your average order value. The calculator applies the rates in the table below and shows the monthly total next to Chefzi's flat fee.
Who delivers?
Totals exclude VAT. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply. They are not included. This comparison uses £19 for cash or no-card payments and £29 with online card payments, after the free months. During the free months Chefzi is £0.
Projection · what you could save
£3,931
in a month versus Uber Eats at the published rate, then £29 on the Chefzi card plan. The cash or no-card plan is £19. Totals exclude VAT. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
Reported on Just Eat’s UK partner sign-up page (just-eat.co.uk/partner/signup): 14% when you use your own drivers and 30% when they deliver, plus VAT on the fee. A direct fetch of that page was blocked on 19 October 2026, so treat these as reported figures. The total here excludes that VAT.
Uber Eats UK publishes 30% when Uber delivers (33% for Uber One) and 13% for self-delivery or collection, excluding VAT, plus a £650 activation fee that this sum leaves out.
Deliveroo does not publish a rate on this site. Type the percentage from your statement. The total excludes VAT.
Flat monthly fee, excluding VAT. No percentage of the order.
Standard Stripe card processing fees apply. Not included in the bar.
How the calculator works
1. Orders per month. Use one app at a time if you can. Your partner portal or monthly statement shows the order count. If you only know a weekly figure, multiply it by 52 and divide by 12, rather than multiplying by 4.
2. Average order value. Use the food total the customer paid, which is what the commission is charged on. Your statement usually shows it, or divide your gross sales by the number of orders.
3. Who delivers. The rate changes depending on whether you use your own drivers or the platform's couriers:
| Platform | Your drivers | Platform delivers | Collection | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Just Eat | Reported 14% + VAT | Reported 30% + VAT | n/a on the page checked | Just Eat's own worked example: £3.36 on a £20 order with your drivers |
| Uber Eats | 13% (ex VAT) | 30% (ex VAT); 33% for Uber One members | 13% (ex VAT) | £650 activation fee (ex VAT) not included in the monthly total |
| Deliveroo | Your statement | Your statement | Your statement | No standard rate published. The terms say the fee is a percentage of the order value including VAT, plus VAT |
4. Read the result. The total is the commission the published rate implies for that month's orders, before VAT. The Chefzi lines are £19 a month for cash or no-card payments and £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe, per location after the first three months (which are £0), excluding VAT. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply on the card plan.
Working it out by hand
If you want to check the calculator's sums, or run your own figures on paper:
Monthly commission = orders × average order value × rate
Add VAT (if you can't reclaim it) = monthly commission × 1.2
Example: 300 Just Eat orders a month at £20, your own drivers
- 300 × £20 × 14% = £840 commission
- With VAT: £840 × 1.2 = £1,008, if you're not VAT-registered
The same 300 orders through your own ordering page on Chefzi
- £19 a month for cash or no-card payments (£22.80 including VAT), or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe (£34.80 including VAT). Standard Stripe card processing fees apply on the card plan
The example is for illustration only. Use your own numbers.
What the calculator leaves out
The calculator compares like with like on the main fee, so it leaves out:
- Card processing, on both sides. Platforms and payment providers charge for card payments in different ways.
- Uber Eats' activation fee of £650 excluding VAT, which Uber says can be reduced if you opt out of some included items.
- Marketing or promotion spend inside the apps, refunds, and adjustments.
- Your drivers' cost, if you deliver yourself. You pay that whichever channel the order came from.
- Price-parity terms. Just Eat's UK restaurant terms include a "price promise" (clause 7.18). Unless agreed otherwise, your prices, discounts, delivery charges and minimum orders on Just Eat must be no less favourable than on your own online channels. The calculator compares fees, not menu prices. Keep your prices aligned, and read your own contract.
Using the result sensibly
The figure that matters most is the commission paid on repeat customers. These are people who already know your shop and found you through an app months ago. They're the easiest orders to move to your own page, because they already trust the food.
Practical next steps:
- Estimate how many of your app orders come from regulars. If your partner dashboard shows repeat customers, start there.
- Put your own ordering link where regulars already look: your Google Business Profile and your window. Use a QR code on your own packaging for orders that did not come through Just Eat. Do not put a code on a Just Eat bag.
- Keep the apps for discovery, and measure direct orders monthly.

Questions
Where do the calculator's commission rates come from?
From each platform's own published UK pages: Just Eat's partner sign-up page (14% with your own drivers, 30% when Just Eat delivers, plus VAT) and Uber Eats' UK pricing page (13% self-delivery or pickup, 30% when Uber delivers, 33% for Uber One, excluding VAT). Deliveroo doesn't publish a standard rate, so you enter the one on your statement.
Does the calculator include VAT?
The headline totals exclude VAT, because all three platforms quote their fees before VAT. If you aren't VAT-registered you can't reclaim that VAT, so add 20% to the fee to see your real cost.
Why doesn't my statement match the calculator?
Your contract may have a different rate, and statements can include other items such as promotions, refunds, tablet fees or Uber Eats' activation fee. The calculator uses the published percentage only. Your statement is the figure that applies to you.
Does the Chefzi figure include card fees?
No. Chefzi is £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe per location excluding VAT after three free months, with no commission. Card processing on direct orders is charged by your payment provider, so add their fee to compare like for like.
Should I leave the delivery apps if the numbers look bad?
Not necessarily. Marketplaces bring customers who wouldn't otherwise find you. The calculator shows what each order through them costs, so you can decide which customers to bring back to your own ordering page.
