Your domain
Updated 20 October 2026
Take orders on your own web address
In short: Connect your own domain, such as yourtakeaway.co.uk, to your Chefzi website and ordering page from the portal. Customers type your name, not ours, and every link you share builds your brand.
Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026.
Why your own domain matters
- Trust: a customer who sees yourtakeaway.co.uk knows they're on your real site.
- Memorability: easy to print on bags, flyers and the shop window.
- Ownership: links from local news, your Google profile and directories point at an address you control. If you ever change provider, they keep working.
- SEO: links and reviews build up on your own domain over time. See restaurant website SEO.
How to connect it
- Buy a domain from any UK registrar, or use one you already have.
- In your Chefzi portal, add the domain.
- Copy the DNS records shown into your registrar's settings.
- Once the records update (usually within hours), your site goes live on your domain with a secure padlock (HTTPS).
Moving from an old site or GloriaFood
Make a list of your old page addresses and redirect each one to its new equivalent, especially the menu. If you're leaving GloriaFood before it closes on 30 April 2027, our GloriaFood switch guide covers the order of steps. The domain and DNS part, including a hosted GloriaFood website, is in how to move a GloriaFood custom domain.
After the domain is connected
Tell the places that already send you customers. The Google listing, the Instagram bio, the window, and any directory that shows the old address should use the new one. A domain you own does not help if the link people tap still points at a marketplace or at a GloriaFood page that will stop on 30 April 2027.
Keep the old addresses redirecting. A menu URL that has been printed on a flyer for two years should land on the new menu, not on an error. Write the list down before you switch, including the homepage and the ordering page. We help map those addresses. We do not promise that every old ranking number will stay the same. Most of the signals carry over when the redirect is in place and the new page is the same restaurant.
The padlock (HTTPS) comes with the connection. If the browser warns about the certificate, the DNS has not finished. Wait, then check again from a phone that is not on the shop Wi-Fi.
You still pay the registrar for the name itself. Connecting it is part of the Chefzi plan. A yourname.chefzi.co.uk address remains available if you want a second link while a record is propagating.
If you are not ready to move the domain, start on the Chefzi address and connect the name when the menu is right. The ordering page does not have to wait for the registrar.
Pricing
Your own domain comes with every plan: £19 a month, or £29 a month with Stripe card payments (card fees apply), no setup fee and 0% commission. See what a restaurant website costs for comparisons.
Questions
Can I use a domain I already own?
Yes. Connect it from your Chefzi portal by adding the DNS records shown there at your domain registrar.
Is there an extra charge for my own domain?
Connecting your domain is part of your Chefzi plan. You pay your registrar for the domain name itself, typically a few pounds a year for a .co.uk.
Will I lose my Google ranking if I move to Chefzi?
If your old pages redirect to the matching new ones, most ranking signals carry over. We help you map old addresses to new ones.
Should I choose .co.uk or .com?
For a UK-only takeaway, .co.uk tells customers you're local. Either works for Google if the site is clearly UK-focused.
