Convert a GloriaFood menu to CSV
Turn a GloriaFood Fetch Menu JSON export into a CSV in your browser, and a four-column file for the Chefzi menu import. The file is not uploaded.
Same columns as menu_to_csv.py: category, item, description, size, base price, size price, tags, allergens and option groups. The Chefzi file is a second download: category, dish, description and the base price only.
How to use it
- Export the menu as JSON. The export guide has the Fetch Menu request. Treat the key like a password.
- Paste the JSON here, or choose the file. The sample button uses GloriaFood’s published example, not a customer menu.
- Download menu.csv and the Chefzi import. Check categories, sizes, option minimums and maximums, paid extras and allergens against the live page. The Chefzi price is the base price only.
- When you switch, the steps are on the migration checklist.
Size prices in GloriaFood’s sample look like additions to the base price, not the full price of that size. The converter does not add them together.
Questions
Is my menu uploaded?
No. The converter reads the file on your device and builds the spreadsheet in the browser. Chefzi does not receive the file.
Which file does it accept?
The JSON from GloriaFood’s Fetch Menu endpoint. It should be an object with a categories array. XML is not converted. The export guide has the request.
Why are base price and size price separate?
In GloriaFood’s published sample, size prices look like additions to the item’s base price. A pizza with base price 7 has Small at 0 and Large at 2. Check a few rows against what customers pay on your live page before you add the two columns together.
Will this import the menu into Chefzi?
The Chefzi download is a file you can import. It has four columns: category, dish, description and price. The price is the item’s base price only, written like 7.00. Size additions and option groups are not in that file. They stay in menu.csv. The dashboard import skips the header and does not create sizes or extras. When you move, send the JSON export and Chefzi rebuilds those. That rebuild is included.
Send the export. We rebuild the menu.
Three months free, then £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe. The menu move is included.
