Moving GloriaFood opening hours, holidays and scheduled orders: a setting-by-setting guide
By Arslan Munir
Opening hours feel like the simplest part of a migration. They're also the part customers test first. If your new ordering page says closed at 7pm on a Friday, or lets someone book a collection for 11:45 on Christmas Day, you'll hear about it before you hear about anything else.
This page covers hours, holidays, pauses and orders for later. For the full timeline, start with the GloriaFood shutdown guide. If you're still choosing a system, see Chefzi vs GloriaFood. Chefzi isn't affiliated with GloriaFood or Oracle.
When GloriaFood stops
Oracle's GloriaFood end-of-life FAQ (checked 24 October 2026) gives 30 April 2027 as the end-of-life date. Your services end on the expiry date of your subscription renewal, between 1 and 30 April 2027, unless you end them earlier. After that, you have 30 days to retrieve your data. Check your own renewal date: that's your real deadline.
Step 1: Copy out four GloriaFood screens
GloriaFood keeps these under Setup, then Services & opening hours. Screenshot each one before you change anything.
- Opening hours. GloriaFood lets you set separate hours for dine-in, pickup, delivery and table reservations. Write down each service's hours, day by day, including split lunch and evening shifts.
- Special days. GloriaFood's "Add special day/holiday" option changes hours or closes you on a date, with a message shown on your menu. Note any dates you've already added for the coming months, and which services each one affects.
- Pause services. GloriaFood can pause chosen services, or everything, until the end of the day or for a set time, with a reason shown to customers, and an Unpause button in the app. Note who on your team uses it, and when.
- Scheduled orders. GloriaFood lets customers order for later, with a minimum and a maximum time in advance for pickup and for delivery. Outside your hours, it queues those orders and doesn't alert you until you open. Write down your minimum and maximum for each service.
Step 2: The settings map, GloriaFood to Chefzi
| GloriaFood setting | In Chefzi |
|---|---|
| Pickup hours | Collection hours |
| Delivery hours | Delivery hours, set separately from collection |
| Dine-in hours | Not a separate ordering service. Seated guests can order through QR table ordering; check how its hours work on your call. The table-by-table move is replacing GloriaFood dine-in QR ordering |
| Table reservation hours | Table reservations are part of Chefzi. See how to replace GloriaFood table reservations |
| Special day for chosen services | One special day: closed, or one opening window, covering collection and delivery together |
| Pause chosen services | Pause ordering, and resume it with one action. To stop delivery only, turn delivery off and stay open for collection |
| Scheduled orders, minimum time in advance | A lead time, set separately for collection and delivery, for the whole location |
| Scheduled orders, maximum time in advance | How many days ahead customers can order, from one to fourteen |
| (no per-dish setting) | No per-dish lead time in Chefzi either |
Three differences to plan around:
- Special days cover both services. If you used GloriaFood to close delivery on a date while keeping pickup open, Chefzi will treat that date as one window for both. If you want collection only that day, set the window and turn delivery off for the day.
- The lead time is for the whole location. A cake that needs a day's notice and a coffee share the same lead time. Say on the item if something needs longer.
- There's no slot cap. Chefzi doesn't limit how many orders share a time. Your controls are the lead time, accepting each order with a prep time, rejecting with a reason, and pausing.
Step 3: Set your hours in Chefzi
- Weekly hours first. Enter collection hours, then delivery hours, day by day. If your last driver leaves at 9.30pm but the counter stays open until 10.30pm, the two lines should say so.
- Split shifts. If you close between lunch and dinner, enter both windows.
- Closing time is the cut-off. There's no separate last-order setting before it, so set closing time to the last moment you'll take an order, not the moment the shutters come down. If you trade late, match your hours to your licence.
- Special days. Add the dates you'd already planned in GloriaFood. For Christmas and New Year, use the Christmas and New Year opening hours checklist, which lists the 2026 to 2027 bank holidays and the other places your hours need changing.
Step 4: Set up orders for later
Take your GloriaFood minimum time in advance and turn it into a lead time:
- Collection lead time: how much notice you need before someone can collect. If GloriaFood's pickup minimum was 30 minutes, start there.
- Delivery lead time: usually longer, because it includes the ride. Each delivery zone carries its own delivery time, so use your slowest zone as a guide. The zones, fees and minimums themselves are in moving your GloriaFood delivery zones.
- Days ahead: your GloriaFood maximum time in advance becomes a number of days, from one to fourteen. A shop that takes office lunch orders on Monday for Friday needs at least five.
Customers order ahead on your online ordering page. Accepting an order in the Chefzi app asks for a prep time, and that's the time the customer sees.
Step 5: Test like a customer
Before you move any link, check these from your own phone:
- Order for later today. Pick a time just past your lead time. It should be accepted. Pick a time inside it. It shouldn't be offered.
- Order for a later day. Pick your furthest day ahead. Then try one day beyond it.
- After delivery stops. Try delivery after your delivery hours end, then collection at the same time.
- A special day. Add a test closed day for tomorrow, check the ordering page, then remove it.
- Pause. Pause ordering, check the page, resume, and check again. The person who closes up should do this once. The device steps are in replace the GloriaFood order-taking app.
Step 6: Change your hours everywhere else
When Chefzi is live, customers will still see your hours in other places. Update your Google listing, and add an order online link to your Google Business Profile that points to your Chefzi page. Then replace the GloriaFood ordering button on your website and Facebook page. Keep GloriaFood running until its last scheduled order has been made: an order placed today for next Saturday is still a GloriaFood order. The rest of the move is in migrate from GloriaFood.
Move your hours to Chefzi
Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026. Migration from GloriaFood or any other provider is 100% free.
After the free period, Chefzi is £9 a month for cash or no-card ordering, or £19 a month with online card payments through Stripe, per location, excluding VAT. Standard Stripe fees apply. There's no setup fee and no commission on any order. See Chefzi pricing and what Chefzi does not do.
Frequently asked questions
Can Chefzi have different hours for collection and delivery?
Yes. Collection hours and delivery hours are set separately in Chefzi, so you can stop delivering when the last driver goes home and keep taking collection orders until you close.
How do I close for a bank holiday in Chefzi?
Add a special day. A special day in Chefzi is either closed or one opening window, and it covers collection and delivery together. GloriaFood lets a special day affect chosen services only, so if you used that, plan the date as one window for both.
Does Chefzi have scheduled orders like GloriaFood?
Yes. Customers can order ahead for a later time. You set the lead time for collection and for delivery separately, and how many days ahead customers can order, from one to fourteen. Closing time is the cut-off.
Can I limit how many orders come in for one time slot?
No. Chefzi has no slot grid and no cap on orders that share a time. Your controls are the lead time, accepting with a prep time, rejecting with a reason and pausing ordering.
Can I set a longer notice period for one dish?
No. The lead time is set for the location, not for one dish. If a cake or platter needs more notice, say so in the item description.
