Moving your GloriaFood delivery zones: fees, minimums and times, zone by zone
By Arslan Munir
Delivery zones are the setting most restaurants set up once and never look at again. That's exactly why they get missed in a migration. The menu moves, the payments move, and then on the first Friday a customer two streets past your old boundary can't order, or a customer across town orders a £9 meal you lose money delivering.
This page covers that one job: moving the zones. For the full timeline, start with the GloriaFood shutdown guide, or see Chefzi vs GloriaFood if you're still deciding. Chefzi isn't affiliated with GloriaFood or Oracle.
Your deadline is your renewal date
Oracle's GloriaFood end-of-life FAQ (checked 24 October 2026) sets 30 April 2027 as the end-of-life date. Services end on the expiry date of your subscription renewal, somewhere between 1 and 30 April 2027, unless you end them earlier. After expiry, cancellation or termination you can retrieve your data for 30 days.
Your delivery zones live in your GloriaFood admin, not in a file you'll be sent. Copy them out well before your renewal date.
Step 1: Write down what GloriaFood holds
GloriaFood's own guides describe where delivery is set up: Setup, then Services & opening hours, then Delivery. There you can trace zones as circles or drawn shapes, give each zone a minimum order and a delivery fee, and add several zones with different fees. An Advanced setting decides whether orders from outside your zones are accepted, and you can change the address form customers fill in.
Open that screen and fill in one line per zone:
| Zone | Shape (circle or drawn) | Rough edge (streets or postcodes) | Fee | Minimum order |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ||||
| 2 | ||||
| 3 |
Take a screenshot of the map as well. A drawn shape is hard to describe in words, and you'll want to trace it again.
Then note three things that sit outside the table:
- Outside-zone orders. Is the Advanced setting accepting orders beyond your zones? If it is, some of your regulars may live outside every zone you drew.
- Free delivery offers. GloriaFood promotes free delivery for orders over a set value or for first-time customers. If you run one, it's a promotion, not a zone setting, so it moves separately.
- Delivery heatmap. If you've used GloriaFood's delivery heatmaps, look at where your orders cluster before you redraw anything. That's where your zones matter most.
Step 2: The zone map, GloriaFood to Chefzi
| In GloriaFood | In Chefzi |
|---|---|
| Circle zones | Radius zones, set as distance rings |
| Drawn shapes | Draw the area on a map |
| (no equivalent) | A zone made from a list of postcodes |
| Fee per zone | Fee per zone |
| Minimum order per zone | Minimum order per zone |
| (not part of the zone) | A delivery time per zone, shown at checkout |
| Accept orders outside zones | Not available. The postcode is checked at checkout, so an order from outside your zones never reaches the kitchen |
| Free delivery promotion | A promo code can give free delivery. See how to replace GloriaFood promotions |
| Pause delivery | Turn delivery off and stay open for collection |
The full list of what a zone can hold is on the delivery zones page. Opening hours, holidays and orders for later are a different screen: moving GloriaFood opening hours and scheduled orders.
Two differences matter on the night:
- There's no outside-zone setting. If GloriaFood was quietly taking orders beyond your last zone, those customers will be turned away by Chefzi's postcode check. Look at last month's delivery addresses. If you really serve a street, put it inside a zone.
- There's no switch for one zone. If riders are short, remove the outer zone, or turn delivery off and keep collection open. Put the zone back the next day. Tell whoever closes up how to do both.
Step 3: Rebuild the zones in Chefzi
Work from the inside out.
- Zone 1 first. Recreate the nearest zone with the same fee and minimum as before. Customers notice a changed price straight away, so keep it the same unless you have a reason to change it.
- Choose the shape that fits. A radius suits a shop in the middle of an even street grid. A drawn area suits a river, a ring road or a hill your riders avoid. A postcode list suits a town where customers think in postcodes.
- Add a delivery time to each zone. GloriaFood zones didn't carry one. Use what your riders actually manage on a Friday, not a quiet Tuesday.
- Move outwards. Repeat for each zone. If a zone has never paid for the fuel, this is a good moment to drop it rather than copy it.
- Check the overlaps. Where two zones touch, make sure the address on the line lands in the one you intend.
If you want to rethink your fees and minimums rather than copy them, read how to set delivery fees and minimum orders first. Everything here assumes your own riders: Chefzi has no courier integrations.
Step 4: Test four addresses before you go live
Use real addresses, ideally from past orders:
- Near: a street inside zone 1. Check the fee, minimum and time.
- Edge: an address just inside your outer line. It should be accepted at the outer zone's price.
- Just outside: an address one street beyond your last zone. It should be refused at checkout.
- Awkward: the estate, flats or new build your riders always ask about. Check it lands in the zone you expect.
Place one test order with paid extras in each zone that takes orders, and check that the fee, minimum and time the customer saw match what you set. If you're still learning the kitchen device, see how to replace the GloriaFood order-taking app.
Step 5: Switch over, then retire the old zones
Zones are only one part of the move. Before customers can order delivery through Chefzi, you also need:
- Menu: move a GloriaFood menu without retyping it.
- Card payments: move GloriaFood card payments to Stripe.
- Links: replace the GloriaFood ordering button on your website, Facebook page and Google listing.
Then update anything that tells customers where you deliver: the delivery note on your site, flyers and your Google listing. Your online ordering page shows customers straight away whether you deliver to them. Leave GloriaFood running until its last order is finished, then retrieve what you need inside the 30-day window. The full checklist is on migrate from GloriaFood.
Move your delivery with Chefzi
Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026. Migration from GloriaFood or any other provider is 100% free.
After the free period, Chefzi is £9 a month for cash or no-card ordering, or £19 a month with online card payments through Stripe, per location, excluding VAT. Standard Stripe fees apply. There's no setup fee and no commission on any order. See Chefzi pricing and what Chefzi does not do.
Frequently asked questions
Can I copy my GloriaFood delivery zones straight into Chefzi?
There is no automatic import of zones. Write down each GloriaFood zone with its shape, fee and minimum order, then recreate it in Chefzi as a map area, a radius or a list of postcodes. A screenshot of the GloriaFood map makes drawn shapes easier to trace again.
Does each Chefzi zone have its own fee and minimum order?
Yes. Every Chefzi delivery zone has its own delivery fee, its own minimum order and its own delivery time, so a far zone can cost more and take longer than a near one.
What happens if a customer is outside my zones?
Chefzi checks the customer's postcode at checkout, so an order from outside your zones never reaches the kitchen. GloriaFood has an advanced setting that can accept orders from outside the zones; Chefzi has no equivalent, so draw the outer zone wide enough for the addresses you really serve.
Can I switch one zone off on a busy night?
Not with a switch. Chefzi has no on and off control for a single zone. Remove the outer zone, or turn delivery off and stay open for collection, then add the zone back when you have riders again.
Does Chefzi connect to a courier company?
No. Chefzi has no courier integrations. Zones, fees and minimums are for deliveries your own riders make.
