Table reservations

Restaurant booking system with online ordering built in
In short: Chefzi is a restaurant booking system with online ordering built in. Guests use the table booking system to choose a date, time and party size on your own website. You get each booking straight away, and the guest's details stay with you. No setup fee, no commission and nothing per cover.
Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026.
Why take bookings on your own site?
Booking platforms are good at sending you new diners, but many charge for each cover or push guests to book through the platform's app the next time, where your rivals are listed next to you. If most of your bookings come from regulars, locals and people who have already found you on Google, it makes sense to take them on your own site.
How the table booking system works
- Set your rules. Choose your opening times, slot length, maximum party size and how many covers you can take in each slot.
- Share one link. Put the booking button on your restaurant website, your Google Business Profile and Instagram.
- Get notified. Each new booking reaches you straight away, so the front of house knows who's coming.
- Guests get a confirmation. The guest sees the date, time and party size they booked.
Built for UK independents
- Busy weekends: a cap per slot stops you overbooking the 7.30pm rush.
- Small rooms: set a sensible maximum party size and ask larger groups to call.
- Bring guests back: with consent, invite past guests back with email campaigns.
Bookings and ordering in one place
Most independents run three systems: one for bookings, one for online orders and one for the website. This restaurant booking system puts reservations, online ordering for delivery and collection, and QR table ordering on one website, on your own domain. The table booking system is for guests who have not arrived yet.
Tips that cut no-shows
- Send a clear confirmation with your address and phone number.
- Tell guests how to cancel. Most no-shows are people who forgot or couldn't find a way to cancel.
- Hold back a few walk-in tables on busy nights rather than overbooking.
A Friday you can still walk in
A booking page does not have to take every cover in the room. Hold a few tables for people who arrive without a booking, and say so to the team before service. If a party is larger than the maximum you set, the page should send them to the phone rather than accept a booking you cannot seat.
A booking is not an order for the kitchen. If the same guest later wants food at the table, that is QR table ordering, after they have sat down. To see how other booking products publish their prices, read best restaurant booking systems in the UK.
Pricing
Reservations come with your Chefzi plan: £19 a month, or £29 a month if you take online card payments through Stripe (standard Stripe fees apply). Plans are per location, exclude VAT and run month to month. See Chefzi pricing.
Questions
Is Chefzi a free restaurant reservation system?
Table reservations are included in your Chefzi plan, with no setup fee and no per-cover charge. New sign-ups get a free introductory period, shown in the current offer on this page. After that the plan is £19 a month, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe.
Does Chefzi charge per booking or per cover?
No. Table reservations are part of your Chefzi plan. There is no setup fee and no commission or per-cover charge.
What is the difference between table reservations and QR table ordering?
Reservations let guests book a table before they arrive. QR table ordering lets seated guests scan a code and order from their phone. You can use either one, or both.
Can guests book from Google and Instagram?
Yes. Your booking page has its own link, so you can add it to your Google Business Profile, your Instagram bio and your website menu.
Who owns the guest data?
You do. Guest names and contact details stay in your Chefzi account, not on a marketplace, so you can contact guests again with their consent.
