How to replace GloriaFood's "See MENU & Order" button on your website and Facebook page

By Arslan Munir

If you built your own website and added GloriaFood to it, your site will keep working after April 2027. Only the button won't. That's actually worse than a site that goes down: customers will see your menu button, tap it and get nothing, and you won't hear about it. This guide shows where GloriaFood's code tends to hide and how to swap it cleanly.

What GloriaFood put on your website

GloriaFood's help pages describe three pieces. You may have one, two or all three.

1. The "See MENU & Order" button. You copied it from the GloriaFood admin (Publishing → Website) and pasted it into a page. It looks like this:

<span class="glf-button" data-glf-cuid="…" data-glf-ruid="…"> See MENU & Order</span>
<script src="https://www.foodbooking.com/embedder/js/ewm2.js" defer async></script>

The two long IDs (data-glf-cuid and data-glf-ruid) identify your restaurant. The script, served by GloriaFood, turns the span into the orange button and opens your menu. GloriaFood's pages show the script on more than one address over the years (foodbooking.com/widget/…, foodbooking.com/embedder/… and fbgcdn.com/embedder/…), so search for all of them.

2. The "Table Reservations" button. It's the same idea with a reservation flag (data-glf-reservation="true"). It appears as a "Table Reservations" or "Book a table" button.

3. Menu links. GloriaFood suggested adding "Order online" and "Book a table" links to your site's navigation as <a href="javascript:;" data-glf-cuid="…" data-glf-ruid="…">. These don't look like buttons, so they're the ones people miss.

There's also a WordPress plugin from GloriaFood, "Restaurant Menu – Food Ordering System – Table Reservation". On 20 October 2026 WordPress.org showed 7,000+ active installs, a last update two years ago, and a warning that it "hasn't been tested with the latest 3 major releases of WordPress".

Step 1: make a list of every GloriaFood touchpoint

Spend 20 minutes on this before changing anything. Use this table as your checklist.

WhereWhat to look forReplace with
Homepage (above the fold)Orange "See MENU & Order" buttonNew inline menu or "Order online" button
Every other pageThe same button (GloriaFood advised adding it to every page)The same new button

Facebook Page"Start Order" action button with the GloriaFood smart linkYour new ordering link
Instagram, WhatsApp, Linktree-style pagesAny GloriaFood or foodbooking linkYour new ordering link
Google Business ProfileGloriaFood ordering link in food ordering settingsYour own link, set as preferred

A quick way to search: open each page in a desktop browser, press Ctrl+U (or Cmd+Option+U on a Mac) to view the source, then search with Ctrl+F for glf-, ewm2, foodbooking and fbgcdn. If you have access to the site's files or a WordPress theme editor, search there too.

Step 2: set up the replacement and get its code

Before you remove anything, have the new system ready with your menu, delivery zones and hours, and run a few test orders. With Chefzi you get three options from Chefzi's website embed:

  • A full inline menu that sits inside any page, so customers order without leaving your site.
  • A floating or inline button that opens ordering, like GloriaFood's.
  • A hosted link (yourname.chefzi.co.uk, or your own domain) for Facebook, Instagram and Google.

If you take bookings, Chefzi table reservations gives you a booking link to replace the GloriaFood "Table Reservations" button.

Step 3: swap the code, platform by platform

GloriaFood's own help covered WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Weebly, Duda, Joomla and Drupal. The swap is the same as the original install, in reverse.

WordPress (self-hosted)

  1. Open the page in the block editor and find the Custom HTML block containing the GloriaFood code.
  2. Replace its contents with your new snippet and update the page.
  3. Check Appearance → Widgets and your theme's header and footer settings for more copies.
  4. If you used the GloriaFood plugin, deactivate it after the new button is live, then delete it.

GloriaFood noted that its script code doesn't work on WordPress.com sites (free or paid). If you're on WordPress.com and couldn't use the code, you probably used a plain link instead. Just swap the link.

Wix

  1. In the editor, click the Embed a Widget box that holds the GloriaFood code.
  2. Open HTML Settings – Code, paste the new code and click Apply.
  3. Repeat on every page, then publish.

Squarespace and others

Find the code block or embed block on each page, replace the code and save. On builders that put code in a site-wide header or footer injection, check there too.

Hand-coded sites

Search the files for glf- and remove both the button markup and the ewm2.js script tag. Add your new snippet where the old button was. Don't leave the old script in place "just in case": once GloriaFood's servers stop, it will only slow the page down.

Step 4: change the Facebook "Start Order" button

GloriaFood's Facebook ordering is just a link. GloriaFood's instructions were: on your Page, click the three dots, choose Add Action Button, select Start Order, and paste the smart link from Publishing → Facebook in the GloriaFood admin. To replace it:

  1. On your Facebook Page, open the action button settings (it may say Edit action button; Facebook moves this menu around).
  2. Keep Start Order and replace the link with your new ordering link.
  3. Save, then tap the button on a phone to check it opens your new menu.
  4. Update any pinned posts or old posts that you still share with the GloriaFood link.

Do the same for your Instagram bio link and any WhatsApp Business quick replies.

Step 5: test like a customer

On your own phone, using mobile data rather than the shop Wi-Fi:

  • tap every new button and link on the homepage, menu page and contact page;
  • place a test order and a test booking;
  • check the Facebook button opens the new menu, not the old one;
  • check the page still loads quickly with the old script removed.

Step 6: remove the old code and tell customers

Once orders are flowing through the new system, remove every last GloriaFood snippet and switch off GloriaFood ordering. Then update your Google Business Profile ordering link. If your regulars are used to the orange button, a short note on the homepage ("We've moved to a new ordering system, same menu, same prices") avoids confused phone calls.

What if GloriaFood also hosts your website?

If GloriaFood generated your whole website (its "Sales Optimized Website"), there's no button to swap. The site itself closes. You'll need a new website, such as a ready-made restaurant website from Chefzi, and you may need to move your domain's DNS. See move your domain and DNS off GloriaFood. For menu, customer and order exports, use the full GloriaFood migration checklist.

Frequently asked questions

What is the GloriaFood "See MENU & Order" button?

It's a short piece of HTML that GloriaFood gives you in the admin panel under Publishing, then Website. It adds an orange "See MENU & Order" button to your site, which opens your GloriaFood menu and checkout. It works by loading a script from GloriaFood's servers, so it stops working when GloriaFood closes on 30 April 2027.

Will the GloriaFood button stop working after April 2027?

Yes. Oracle ends all GloriaFood products and services on 30 April 2027, and its FAQ says customers will no longer be able to place online orders on your website or Facebook page after that date. Replace the button before your last GloriaFood period ends.

How do I find every GloriaFood button on my website?

View the source of each page, or search your site's files or editor, for "glf-", "ewm2.js", "foodbooking" and "fbgcdn". Check headers, footers, pop-ups, menu links and any WordPress plugin called "Restaurant Menu – Food Ordering System – Table Reservation".

How do I change the Facebook "Start order" button?

On your Facebook Page, open the action button settings (GloriaFood's instructions use the three-dot menu and "Add Action Button"), choose "Start Order" and replace the GloriaFood smart link with your new ordering link. Save, then test it on a phone.

Can I run the old and new buttons at the same time?

Yes, for a short trial, as long as someone is watching both order devices. Once real orders are arriving through the new system, remove the GloriaFood code so customers can't order through a system that's about to close.

Does Chefzi work on WordPress, Wix and Squarespace?

Yes. Chefzi's embed is a snippet you paste into WordPress, Wix, Squarespace or a hand-coded site. It can show your whole menu inline or add a floating or inline "Order online" button, and there's a hosted ordering link for social media and Google.
