Pakistani takeaways in the UK, from Lahori grill houses to family karahi specialists, sell food that is often ordered in large amounts and shared. A Friday order might be a one kilo lamb karahi, a family biryani, six seekh kebabs, a stack of naan and a jug of lassi. Chefzi puts that menu on your own takeaway website with no commission, and lays the order out so the grill and the pot each get exactly what they need.
Menu structure that matches the kitchen
- Karahi and handi. Sell by size, such as half kilo or one kilo, with a meat choice (chicken, lamb or mutton where you serve it) and a spice level. Naming the weight on the ticket stops arguments about portion size.
- Grill. Seekh kebab, chicken tikka, lamb chops, chapli kebab and mixed grill by the piece or as platters. Put piece counts in the name: "Lamb chops (4)".
- Biryani and pulao. Single portions and family trays, with raita included or as an extra.
- Bread. Plain, butter, garlic and keema naan, roti and paratha. Bread is the item most often forgotten in a phone order, so suggest it as an add-on at checkout.
- Drinks and sweets. Lassi, chai, kheer, gulab jamun and kulfi.
If you also serve curry house favourites, give them their own section after your specialities so regulars find them fast. The Indian restaurant and Bangladeshi restaurant pages cover those menus in more depth. For halal statements, Ramadan hours and Eid trays, see halal takeaway ordering.
Big orders, events and Eid
Pakistani takeaways often take very large orders for family events, Eid and Ramadan iftar. Scheduled ordering lets customers book a time and date ahead, so you can plan meat and staff. For big trays, set a sensible minimum order, and keep a phone number on the page for event orders you would rather discuss first.
During Ramadan, many takeaways change hours to open before iftar and stay open late. Update opening times in advance so the ordering page only offers times you can actually meet.
Halal and spice
If your meat is halal, say so clearly in the menu header and on items, only where you can stand behind it. Add a required spice choice to karahi and curries. Customers who grew up on the dish often want it hotter than the default, and a clear choice stops remakes.
Delivery across a wider area
Grill houses often deliver further than a typical takeaway because orders are larger. With delivery zones you draw areas on a map and set a fee and minimum order for each, so a long run is only accepted on an order that makes it worthwhile. Collection is simple too: customers see a realistic ready time based on your prep settings.
Counter, phone and web in one queue
Chefzi POS is the free browser till included with your plan. Phone orders, which are still a big share for many Pakistani takeaways, go into the same queue as web orders. When the lamb chops sell out, mark them unavailable once and they disappear online too. The till runs on a tablet, laptop or phone you already have.
Allergens
Many dishes contain milk (cream, yoghurt, ghee), nuts in sweets and some kormas, gluten in breads and mustard in some marinades. Write allergens into each item and keep a phone number on the page for allergy questions.
Building direct orders
- Put your order link on your Google Business Profile and WhatsApp Business profile.
- Print the web address on menus and bags, and remind delivery app customers they can order direct.
- Send a short message to regulars before Eid with your pre-order dates.
Pricing and moving over
Chefzi is £39 a month per location billed annually (£49 if billed monthly) with everything included (excluding VAT). Orders are unlimited on every plan, there is no setup fee and we take 0% commission ever. We move your menu from any provider for free. GloriaFood closes on 30 April 2027, so if you use it, plan the switch before your busy season. See Chefzi pricing and the full online ordering features features.
A typical family order, step by step
On a Saturday evening, a customer orders a one kilo lamb karahi at hot, a family chicken biryani, six seekh kebabs, four butter naan, raita and kheer, and books delivery for 8.30pm. The ticket shows the karahi weight and spice, the grill items with piece counts and the bread count on separate lines, so the karahi chef, grill and tandoor each work from one clear order.
Popular UK areas: Bradford, Birmingham, Manchester, Huddersfield and Luton.
