Is there a free GloriaFood replacement?
Updated 20 October 2026 · Arslan Munir
By Arslan Munir. We make Chefzi, so we have an interest here. We haven't tested the other products below; their details come from their own websites on the date shown.
What “free like GloriaFood” actually meant
Before comparing replacements, it helps to pin down what GloriaFood's free plan included. On its pricing page (checked 20 October 2026), the free service plan lists a website ordering widget, ordering links for Facebook and other social profiles, mobile ordering, an order-taking app for Android and iOS, a QR code menu for dine-in, drawn delivery areas, promotions, table reservations, a receipt editor and reports.
The parts that cost extra were listed as optional paid services, priced in US dollars and excluding taxes:
| GloriaFood paid service | Published price (20 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|
| Online / credit card payment service | US$29 a month |
| Advanced promo marketing | US$19 a month |
| Table reservation deposits | US$0.50 per guest (accepted bookings only) |
| Restaurant POS | US$49 a month per location, 2-year commitment |
Oracle's end-of-life FAQ says the POS, the sales-optimised website, the branded app and Oracle Payment can no longer be added to an account, so the POS price on that page is of historical interest only.
So a restaurant on GloriaFood's free plan typically had unlimited orders, a button on its own website, a phone app for the kitchen, and cash or pay-on-collection orders. Online card payments were a paid extra. That's the benchmark a free replacement needs to meet.
The dates that matter
From Oracle's GloriaFood EOL Frequently Asked Questions (version 1.0, March 2026), re-checked on 20 October 2026:
- 30 April 2027: all GloriaFood products and services reach end of life. No extensions.
- The free tier stays available until that date.
- No new direct customers. New restaurants can only be added through GloriaFood partners.
- Renewals are only accepted up to one month before the end-of-life date. A paid add-on ends at the end of its final 30-day term, which can be weeks earlier than 30 April.
- Data: after your services expire or are cancelled, you can retrieve your data for 30 days.
GloriaFood's homepage shows the same end-of-life date in a service update banner. The full timeline and what stops working are in our GloriaFood shutdown guide.
The free replacements we found
| Option | What's free | The catch | Checked |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ressto Basic | Ordering website, up to 10 QR codes, table reservations, basic promo codes | Up to 100 orders a month, cash payments only, a Ressto web address. Unlimited orders, your own domain and online payments are on Growth at $39 per location per month | 20 Oct 2026 |
| POSConnect Free | Branded ordering website, menu builder, collection and delivery, basic reporting | Online card payments go through Stripe at its standard rates. Tablet EPOS and table service are on Pro at £69 a month | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Storekit Starter | Your own branded site, pickup and delivery, kitchen display | No monthly fee, but a flat per-order rate applies. The rate isn't shown on the pricing page | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Square Online (free plan) | An ordering page or website, with orders into Square's own tools | 1.4% + 25p on each online payment with a UK card. Some features need a paid plan from £20 a month | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Order Now | A £0 ordering page with 0% platform commission | Online diner payments are £19 a month and a custom domain £2 a month | 20 Oct 2026 |
| DineKit | A free, open-source WordPress plugin for menus, ordering and bookings | You need a WordPress site and hosting, and you run and update it yourself | 20 Oct 2026 |
| Stay on GloriaFood free | Everything you have today | Stops on 30 April 2027, with no extension | 20 Oct 2026 |
Two patterns stand out. The replacements that are closest to free for a busy takeaway still charge per payment or per order. And the ones that are completely free either cap orders, leave out card payments, or ask you to run the software yourself.
Square Online's free plan, and what it does not include, is compared on Chefzi vs Square Online.
How to judge a free replacement in ten minutes
You know your GloriaFood set-up better than any comparison table, so run these checks against it:
- Count your orders. GloriaFood's reporting dashboard and end-of-day emails show your order numbers. Compare your busiest month with any free plan's cap.
- Check how customers pay. If most pay cash on collection, a cash-only free plan may be enough. If you took card payments through GloriaFood's paid add-on, price the replacement's card option.
- Ask how the kitchen is alerted. GloriaFood's app pushed orders to a phone or tablet. Make sure the new system has something at least as noticeable on a busy night.
- Move the menu, not just the prices. Sizes, extras and required choices take the longest to rebuild. Export your menu first; our GloriaFood menu converter turns an export into a spreadsheet you can check line by line.
- Find every link. Website buttons, Facebook, Instagram, Google Business Profile and printed QR codes all point at GloriaFood today. The migration checklist lists where to look.
- Price the plan you'll need in a year. If you'll outgrow the free tier, the paid tier is the real price.
- Look at who's behind it. The GloriaFood shutdown is a reminder that a free product can be withdrawn. A clear business model is a good sign.
If the job is the button on your website or Facebook page, the steps are in how to replace the GloriaFood ordering button.
When paying a flat fee is the better deal
Free is the right answer for some restaurants: low volume, mostly cash, happy to set things up. For others, the time spent rebuilding a menu and the risk of a missed order on a Friday night are worth more than a monthly fee.
That's where Chefzi sits. It isn't free, and we'd rather say so plainly. Early Black Friday & Cyber Monday Deal: new sign-ups get 3 months free, with no setup fee. The deal ends at 23:59 on 1 December 2026. After the free period it's £19 a month for cash or no-card ordering, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe (standard Stripe fees apply), per location and excluding VAT. In return:
- 0% commission, no setup fee, month to month.
- The menu move is included, and we rebuild it from your GloriaFood export, screenshots or ordering link.
- The Chefzi app on your phone or tablet that rings until someone accepts or rejects, with an SMS and then a phone call if the tablet goes offline.
- Your own domain, delivery zones, pre-orders, promo codes and QR table ordering.
Chefzi doesn't include a till, a kiosk, a branded app-store app, loyalty or courier integrations. If you need those, a broader platform from our best GloriaFood alternatives for UK takeaways roundup may suit you better. Frequently asked questions
Is GloriaFood still free?
Yes, for existing users. Oracle's end-of-life FAQ says the free tier stays available until the end-of-life date, 30 April 2027. Oracle is not taking new direct customers, and nothing on GloriaFood works after that date.
What is the closest free GloriaFood replacement?
There isn't one exact copy. On 20 October 2026 we found several £0 options, but each differs from GloriaFood's free plan: an order cap and cash-only payments (Ressto Basic), a flat per-order rate (Storekit Starter), card fees on every online payment (Square Online), paid add-ons for card payments (Order Now) or self-hosting on WordPress (DineKit). Match the catch to how your restaurant trades.
Does Oracle recommend a GloriaFood replacement?
Oracle's FAQ says it cannot recommend specific third-party providers. GloriaFood's homepage did, on 20 October 2026, carry a notice making customers aware of FoodAmigos, while saying Oracle does not offer a direct replacement.
Can I keep my GloriaFood menu when I switch?
Yes, if you export or record it before your service ends. Oracle says you can retrieve your data for 30 days after your services expire or are cancelled. Chefzi's free GloriaFood menu converter turns an exported menu into a spreadsheet you can check.
Is Chefzi a free GloriaFood replacement?
No. Chefzi has a free introductory period, then costs £19 a month for cash or no-card ordering or £29 a month with Stripe card payments, per location and excluding VAT. It has 0% commission, no setup fee and the menu move is included.
When should I move off GloriaFood?
Well before your final renewal period ends. Oracle only accepts renewals up to one month before 30 April 2027, and a paid add-on stops at the end of its final 30-day term, which can be weeks before the end-of-life date.
