Alternatives
Flipdish alternative for UK takeaways and restaurants
No setup fee. No commission. From £19 a month.
Flipdish is a well-known all-in-one platform: online ordering, websites, branded apps, POS, kiosks and, more recently, AI tools. For a growing group that wants one supplier for everything, that breadth is the point. For a single independent takeaway that mainly wants its own ordering page and a kitchen tablet, it can be more than you need.
This guide sets out what Flipdish publishes, what to compare, four alternatives (Chefzi is one of them, and we make it), and when staying with Flipdish is the sensible call.
Disclosure: Chefzi wrote this page and Chefzi is one of the options. Competitor facts come from their own public pages, checked on 19 October 2026. Prices change, so confirm them with each provider.
What Flipdish offers and charges (as published)
Flipdish's UK site lists online ordering, websites, mobile apps, POS, handheld POS, self-service kiosks, AI marketing, an AI phone agent, delivery integrations, Flipdish Pay and marketplace management.
Its UK pricing page has two tabs. On 19 October 2026 we saw:
| Package (Flipdish's own names) | Billed annually | Billed monthly |
|---|---|---|
| Website (branded website and online ordering) | From £49/month (£588/year) | £69/month |
| Website & App | From £79/month (£948/year) | £99/month |
| Self-Service Kiosk | From £59/month (£708/year) | £79/month |
| Point of Sale and online ordering (essential package) | From £119/month | £139/month (ex. VAT) |
As shown on flipdish.com on 19 October 2026. The website, app and kiosk prices are on the online-ordering page. The £119 package is on the point-of-sale page. Prices are per site. Flipdish doesn't publish a per-order commission figure on that page, and payments run through Flipdish Pay. Read our full Flipdish pricing in the UK guide for worked examples.
Why owners look for a Flipdish alternative
These are the common reasons we hear, not criticisms of Flipdish:
- They only use part of it. If you never touch the POS, kiosks or app, you may be paying for a bigger package than you need.
- Annual billing. The headline prices are for annual billing. Some owners want month-to-month.
- Payments choice. Some owners prefer card payments to go through a provider they already use.
- Simplicity. A one-person kitchen sometimes wants fewer settings, not more.
What to compare before you switch
- Total monthly cost at your real order volume: subscription, per-order fees, card processing and any customer-facing fee.
- Contract and notice. Rolling monthly or a fixed term?
- How orders reach the kitchen. Does it ring until someone answers? What happens if the tablet drops off Wi-Fi?
- Your data. Can you export your customers and orders?
- Delivery. Your own drivers, or courier integrations such as Uber Direct?
- What you'd lose. POS, kiosks, loyalty or an app are hard to give up if your trade depends on them.
Four Flipdish alternatives worth a look
1. Chefzi: a flat fee for independents
Chefzi is a UK ordering product for independent restaurants and takeaways. It is £0 for three months, then £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe per location excluding VAT. There's 0% commission on orders, no setup fee and no contract. What's included, as listed on our pricing page:
- A mobile ordering site for collection, delivery and scheduled orders under your name
- A website generated from your menu that you can edit, or an embed to add ordering to your existing website
- An Android kitchen app that rings until someone accepts with a prep time or rejects with a reason, plus an SMS and then a phone call if the tablet goes offline
- Delivery zones by area, radius or postcode, each with its own fee, minimum and time
- QR table ordering into the same app
- Card payments through your payment provider, plus PDF receipts, exportable daily totals and promo codes
- The menu move, done for you
What Chefzi doesn't do: POS, kiosks, a branded app, loyalty points or courier integrations. Delivery is by your own drivers.
Best for: a single-site takeaway that wants its own commission-free ordering at a flat monthly fee.
2. Storekit: a free tier with a per-order rate
Storekit publishes four plans: Starter (free per month), Grow (£99/month), Pro (£199/month) and Enterprise (from £995 per brand per month). All prices are per location and exclude VAT. Every plan adds "a flat per-order rate, never a commission", and Storekit's page doesn't state that rate. Starter includes pickup, delivery, Uber Direct and a kitchen display. Kiosks and an app are paid add-ons on higher plans.
Best for: operators who want courier integration and an upgrade path to kiosks and apps.
3. Slerp: premium direct ordering for brands
Slerp's own facts page says it costs £125 to £250 per site per month, plus a platform fee on orders and card processing. Terms are typically 12 or 24 months, with rolling terms available, and there's a £500 onboarding fee, waived if you go live within 30 days. It lists delivery integrations, loyalty and CRM.
Best for: multi-site brands, bakeries and QSRs that want a polished branded experience.
4. Square Online: if you already use Square
Square's UK online ordering page lists a free plan, paid plans, and processing of 1.4% + 25p for UK cards (2.5% + 25p non-UK) per online transaction.
Best for: cafés and venues already on Square's till.
When Flipdish is still the better fit
Stay with Flipdish, or choose it, if:
- you want POS, kiosks, online ordering and a branded app from one supplier
- you run, or plan to run, several sites and need central menu management and consolidated reporting
- you'd use AI marketing or the AI phone agent
- you want delivery integrations rather than your own drivers
Chefzi doesn't offer those, and we'd rather tell you now than after you've switched.
How to switch without losing a day of orders
- Check your Flipdish term and note the earliest date you can leave.
- Get your menu out. An export, screenshots or your live ordering link all work. Chefzi does the menu move for you.
- Set delivery zones, hours and payments on the new system.
- Run both side by side for a few days and place test orders.
- Swap the links on your website, Google Business Profile, Instagram and bag stickers.
- Tell your regulars, but only the customers whose details you hold yourself and are allowed to contact.

Is there a setup fee?
No. There is no setup fee, and the menu move is included.
Is there commission?
No. Chefzi charges 0% commission on the order. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
What is the difference between the two monthly prices?
£19 a month is for restaurants taking cash orders, including cash on delivery and cash on collection, or taking no card payment online. £29 a month includes online card payments through Stripe. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
Which Flipdish alternatives publish a monthly price?
On published prices, Storekit's Starter plan has no monthly fee but adds a flat per-order rate, and Square Online has a free plan with card fees from 1.4% + 25p on UK cards. Chefzi is £0 for three months, then £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe excluding VAT, with no per-order fee from Chefzi. Which one costs less depends on your order volume and what you need.
Does Flipdish publish its UK prices?
Yes. On 19 October 2026 Flipdish's online-ordering pricing page showed a website from £49 a month billed annually (£69 monthly), a website and app from £79 (£99 monthly), and a kiosk from £59 (£79 monthly). The point-of-sale page, flipdish.com/gb/pricing, shows an essential package from £119 a month billed annually, or £139 a month if billed monthly (ex. VAT). As shown on flipdish.com on 19 October 2026.
Can I move my menu from Flipdish to Chefzi?
Yes. Chefzi moves the menu for you at no charge. Send an export, screenshots or the link to your ordering page.
Does Chefzi replace a Flipdish POS or kiosk?
No. Chefzi is online ordering, a generated website, QR table ordering and an Android kitchen app. It does not sell a till, kiosks or a branded app. If you rely on those, Flipdish or another all-in-one platform is the better fit.
Do I have to give notice to Flipdish?
That depends on your Flipdish agreement. Flipdish shows annual and monthly billing options, so check your term and notice period before you set a switch date, and run both systems side by side until the new one is live.
