Alternatives
Storekit alternative for UK takeaways
No setup fee. No commission. From £19 a month.
Storekit is a UK direct-ordering platform with a free Starter plan, paid plans for growing brands, and add-ons such as kiosks and a native app. It's also one of the most active voices on the GloriaFood shutdown. It's a credible option, and for some operators it'll be the right one.
This page explains Storekit's published model and when a different set-up could suit you better.
Disclosure: Chefzi made this page and is included. Storekit facts come from storekit.com/pricing, checked 19 October 2026.
Storekit's published plans
| Plan | Price per location (ex. VAT) | Notes from Storekit's page |

| Grow | £99/month | Adds catering, till connection, loyalty and email marketing. Kiosk add-on. |
| Pro | £199/month | Adds in-venue ordering and payments. Kiosk and app add-ons. Setup from £199 per location. |
| Enterprise | From £995 per brand per month | Everything, on an agreed term |
Other points from the page:
- "Every plan adds a flat per-order rate, never a commission." The rate isn't published on the page.
- Starter, Grow and Pro are rolling monthly, cancel any time.
- Add-ons: kiosks +£69/month (£30 per extra screen), an App Studio add-on, kitchen display included on every plan.
- Card rates are described as "low", "lower" and so on by plan, without figures.
Why owners compare alternatives to Storekit
- Predictability. A per-order rate grows with sales, and some owners want one fixed number.
- Unknown per-order rate. You need a quote to model costs.
- Simplicity. A single takeaway may not need catering, kiosks or apps.
What to compare
- Per-order rate × your monthly orders, plus subscription and card fees
- How orders reach the kitchen, and what happens when the tablet drops off
- Delivery: courier integration or your own drivers
- Contract and notice (Storekit's main plans are rolling)
- Menu migration effort

When Storekit is the better fit

- You expect to add catering, loyalty, kiosks or a native app later.
- Your volume is low, so a free plan plus a per-order rate costs less than any monthly fee.
- You run several sites and want one dashboard.
Switching to Chefzi
- Note your Storekit cancellation date (main plans are rolling monthly).
- Send us your menu link or export.
- Set zones, hours and payments, then test.

Flat fee or per-order rate: a quick way to decide
The biggest difference between Storekit and Chefzi is how you pay. Storekit's plans add a flat per-order rate. Chefzi has a flat monthly fee and no per-order charge. Here's how to find your break-even once Storekit tells you its rate:
Break-even orders per month = £19 or £29 ÷ Storekit's per-order rate, depending on the Chefzi plan
- If you take fewer orders than that each month, Storekit Starter is likely to cost less.
- If you take more, Chefzi's flat fee is likely to cost less.
Ask Storekit for the per-order rate and multiply it by your monthly orders. This page does not use an example rate.
Card processing applies to both, so compare it separately: Storekit quotes its own rates by plan, and Chefzi card payments go through your payment provider.
What a switch typically involves
- Menu: send a link or export. Chefzi rebuilds it at no charge, including modifiers and categories.
- Delivery: if you rely on Uber Direct today, plan how your own drivers will cover direct delivery, or keep collection-only for a while.
- Links: update your Google Business Profile, website button, social bios and QR codes.
- Customers: tell your regulars using contact details you're entitled to use, such as a shop poster or a note in the bag.

Questions
What does Chefzi cost?
3 months free, then £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe. No setup fee and no commission. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply. Prices exclude VAT and are per location.
Is there a setup fee?
No. There is no setup fee, and the menu move is included.
Is there commission?
No. Chefzi charges 0% commission on the order. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
What is the difference between the two monthly prices?
£19 a month is for restaurants taking cash orders, including cash on delivery and cash on collection, or taking no card payment online. £29 a month includes online card payments through Stripe. Standard Stripe card processing fees apply.
Is Storekit really free?
Storekit's Starter plan has no monthly fee for pickup and delivery. Like every Storekit plan, it adds a flat per-order rate, which isn't stated on the pricing page (checked 19 October 2026). Ask Storekit for the rate before comparing.
Does Storekit charge commission?
Storekit says no: you pay a monthly fee (£0 on Starter) and a flat per-order rate, never a percentage of the basket.
How is Chefzi different from Storekit?
Chefzi charges no per-order fee. You pay £19 a month for cash or no-card payments, or £29 a month with online card payments through Stripe per location excluding VAT after three free months, whatever your volume. Storekit includes Uber Direct and a kitchen display on Starter and offers kiosks and a native app as add-ons, which Chefzi doesn't.
Which works out cheaper?
At low volume, Storekit Starter may cost less. At higher volume, a flat fee usually wins. It depends on Storekit's per-order rate, so get that figure and compare it against your monthly order count.
Can Chefzi move a GloriaFood or Storekit menu?
Yes. Chefzi moves the menu for you at no charge from an export, screenshots or a live ordering link.
