Orderbee alternative: where Orderbee went, and a simpler option for restaurants and cafés
By Arslan Munir
Facts about Orderbee, Omnifi, QikServe and The Access Group come from their public pages, checked on 23 October 2026 (see sources). They may change. Chefzi isn't affiliated with any of them.
Three different "Orderbee"s
Search for Orderbee in the UK and you can land on three unrelated businesses. Make sure you're reading about the right one before you plan a switch.
| Name | What it is | Where it is now |
|---|---|---|
| Orderbee (Omnifi) | UK mobile order and pay for hospitality: guests scan a QR code, order and pay from their phone | Bought by The Access Group in 2021. orderbee.co.uk now redirects to Access Hospitality's digital ordering page |
| orderbee.eu | A cloud till system for restaurants, presented on an Italian-language site | A separate company. Not part of Access |
| OrderBee (orderbee.io) | Stock forecasting and reorder planning for small online shops | A separate company. Not a food ordering tool |
The rest of this page is about the first one: the order and pay product now run by Access.
What happened to Orderbee
On 25 August 2021, The Access Group announced that it had acquired Omnifi "and its Orderbee Mobile Order and Pay technology", to be folded into its Hospitality division. In the same release, Omnifi's managing partner described Orderbee as enterprise-level order and pay software for the hospitality and leisure sectors. So its roots are in larger, multi-site venues rather than the single high-street restaurant.
The Omnifi brand page on The Access Group's site was still live on 23 October 2026. It says "We're still here", and that the Order & Pay product has found "a new home" within Access Hospitality. The Orderbee page itself now redirects. When we checked, both the Orderbee product URL on theaccessgroup.com and orderbee.co.uk landed on Access Hospitality's digital ordering page. The orderbee.co.uk redirect carries a tracking tag that names an "orderbee migration".
What that means in practice: if you signed up with Orderbee, your agreement, support and billing are with The Access Group. The product you're offered today is part of the QikServe range. That's the same range Access bought separately in 2024.
What Access sells in its place
Access Hospitality now describes several products. You can take them on their own or together:
- Order & Pay / Online Ordering: guests scan a QR code at the table, or order ahead for collection or delivery, in a browser with nothing to download.
- Open Check: guests order in rounds from their phone and pay when they're ready, like a running tab.
- Pay at Table: guests scan to see the bill, then split it equally or by amount, add a tip and pay from their own phone.
- Kiosk: self-service screens for high-footfall counters, sold only for larger deployments.
When it bought Omnifi, Access said it planned to connect Orderbee with its other hospitality software, including EPoS, CRM, reservations and ticketing. That's still the pitch: one connected supplier, where a guest's order goes straight into your till.
What Access publishes on price
The QikServe pricing page on The Access Group's site lists prices per licence (one licence per site), per month, excluding VAT:
| Product | 1–10 sites | 11+ sites | Notes on the page |
|---|---|---|---|
| Online Ordering (web, mobile, QR, collection, delivery) | £109 | Contact us | POS Connect required for integrated sites |
| Open Check | £110 | Contact us | POS Connect included |
| Pay at Table | £75 | Contact us | POS Connect included |
| Kiosk | £75 | Contact us | 11+ licences only, minimum 10 screens, POS Connect extra |
Hardware isn't included: screens and tablets come from Access's partners, bought outright or on a subscription. Your actual cost depends on the products you choose, the number of sites and your contract terms, so Access asks you to get a quote. We didn't find a published price for POS Connect or for Access's own card processing, so we haven't guessed.
Who the Access route suits
Access's order and pay range makes sense if:
- you run several sites, or one very busy one, and want ordering, tabs, pay at table and kiosks managed together;
- every order has to land in your EPOS and stock system without anyone retyping it;
- guests often eat in groups and split the bill at the end;
- you already use other Access Hospitality software and want one supplier.
It's more than many owners need. A neighbourhood restaurant or café that wants QR ordering at the table and collection or delivery from its own page doesn't need a till link or kiosks. It needs a phone-friendly menu, a kitchen that hears new orders, and a price that doesn't grow with each order.
Chefzi as an Orderbee alternative
Chefzi is online ordering for UK food businesses: restaurants, cafés and takeaways. It covers both sides of what Orderbee did, the table and the collection or delivery order, but in a simpler way.
| Chefzi | Access order and pay (published) | |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly price | £19 (cash or no-card) or £29 (online card payments), per location, excl. VAT, after the free period | £75 to £110 per product per site, excl. VAT (1–10 sites) |
| Setup fee | None | Not listed on the pricing page |
| Commission on orders | 0% | Not mentioned on the pages checked |
| QR ordering at the table | Yes, tagged with the table number | Yes |
| Collection and delivery from your own page | Yes | Yes (Online Ordering) |
| Running tab / bill splitting | No | Yes (Open Check / Pay at Table) |
| Till / EPOS link | No | Yes, via POS Connect |
| Kiosks | No | 11+ licences only |
| Where orders arrive | The Chefzi app on a phone or tablet you already own | EPOS, kitchen screens or printers |
| Contract | Month to month | Depends on your agreement |
How Chefzi handles the table:
- QR table ordering. Print a code per table. A seated guest scans it, orders in the browser and the ticket reaches the kitchen with the table number on it. Nothing to install.
- Payment. On the £29 plan, the guest pays by card before the order fires, through card payments through your own Stripe account. On the £19 plan, they pay in cash. Stripe lists 1.5% + 20p for standard UK cards and 2.8% + 20p for premium UK cards. Chefzi adds no commission.
- The kitchen. Orders arrive in the Chefzi app, which rings until someone accepts or rejects. If the device drops offline, Chefzi sends an SMS and then makes a phone call. You don't buy screens for each table.
Around it:
- Online ordering for collection and delivery from the same menu, on your own domain if you like.
- Table reservations for guests who want to book ahead. You confirm each request.
- Promo codes and email campaigns, including automated ones, sent to customers who agreed to hear from you.
- Optional managed help with your Google profile so you can rank higher on Google in your local area, plus social post design and paid ads.
What Chefzi doesn't do: no till or EPOS connection, no kiosks, no tabs, no bill splitting at the table, no loyalty scheme and no customer app for diners to install. The full list is on what Chefzi does not do.
A rough cost check for one site
List prices only, before VAT and card fees. An illustration, not a quote.
| Set-up | Per month | Per year |
|---|---|---|
| Access Online Ordering + Pay at Table, 1 site | £184 | £2,208 |
| Access Online Ordering only, 1 site | £109 | £1,308 |
| Chefzi with card payments, 1 location | £29 | £348 |
| Chefzi, cash or no-card, 1 location | £19 | £228 |
On the Access route you may also need POS Connect, payments and hardware, depending on your set-up. On Chefzi, the only per-order cost is Stripe's fee on card orders. And if part of your trade still comes through delivery apps, where commission is on average up to 25% per order, every regular you move to your own page saves that too. Try your own figures in the commission calculator.
Switching from Orderbee without a gap at the tables
- Check the contract. Find your notice period and renewal date with The Access Group. Don't give notice until the new set-up has run a full service.
- Copy the menu as guests see it. Screenshot every category, item, option and price on your current QR menu. Note which dishes are dine-in only.
- List your tables. Write down every table number that has a code today, including outside tables.
- Build the menu in Chefzi. Recreate categories, items and option groups. Make an option required where the kitchen needs an answer, such as how a steak is cooked.
- Print and test new codes. Print one code per table, then walk the room with a phone on mobile data and scan each one. Check that the ticket shows the right table.
- Swap the codes in one go, before a quiet service. Remove every old code the same day, so nobody scans a dead link.
- Point everything else to the same page. Your website button, Google Business Profile and social links should all open your Chefzi ordering page for collection and delivery.

Frequently asked questions
What happened to Orderbee?
The Access Group announced on 25 August 2021 that it had acquired Omnifi and its Orderbee mobile order and pay technology for its Hospitality division. On 23 October 2026, the Orderbee product page on The Access Group's site and orderbee.co.uk both redirected to Access Hospitality's digital ordering page, where the product line is now sold as QikServe.
Is Orderbee the same as orderbee.eu or OrderBee for Shopify?
No. orderbee.eu is a separate cloud till system for restaurants, with an Italian-language site. OrderBee at orderbee.io is an inventory and reorder planning tool for online shops. Neither is the UK order and pay product that The Access Group bought.
How much does Access charge for order and pay now?
The QikServe pricing page on The Access Group's site, checked on 23 October 2026, lists prices per licence (site) per month, excluding VAT, for 1 to 10 sites: Online Ordering £109, Open Check £110 and Pay at Table £75. Larger estates are quoted. Hardware is not included, and Online Ordering needs POS Connect for integrated sites.
Can Chefzi split the bill or run a tab like Access's products?
No. With Chefzi QR table ordering, a seated guest orders from their phone and, on the £29 plan, pays by card before the order goes to the kitchen. There's no running tab and no pay-at-table bill splitting. If those matter to you, Access's Open Check or Pay at Table is built for them.
What does Chefzi cost?
After the free period, Chefzi is £19 a month per location for cash or no-card ordering, or £29 a month with online card payments through your own Stripe account, excluding VAT. Standard Stripe fees apply. There's no setup fee, no commission and no contract term.
