A takeaway EPOS system that also takes your online orders

By Arslan Munir

Chefzi POS till with a quick note added to an item

A takeaway's Friday night comes through the phone, the counter and the website at the same time. If those run on separate systems, someone ends up re-typing orders or reading two screens. A takeaway EPOS system should bring them together.

Built for how takeaways take orders

  • Phone orders, fast. Ring up items from photo tiles, add sizes and options, and pick collection, delivery or dine-in. Look up a regular by phone number to see their order history.
  • Online orders in the same queue. Orders from your online ordering arrive alongside till orders, so the kitchen works from one list.
  • One kitchen screen. The kitchen display system shows every order, or you can print kitchen tickets instead.
  • Sold out everywhere. Mark a dish sold out on the till and it disappears from your online menu too. Stock counts can do this automatically when you run out.
  • Delivery areas. Online orders follow your delivery zones.

Paying and cashing up

Take cash with change worked out, pay later, split a bill or use more than one payment method. Card payments at the till are taken on your own external card terminal and recorded on the till as card. Chefzi POS does not connect to card terminals. At the end of the night, count the drawer, record pay-ins and pay-outs and print an X or Z report.

Staff and control

Each staff member signs in with their own PIN. Voids, refunds, comps and sold-out changes can need a manager PIN.

Loyalty and gift cards

Give points or stamps by phone number, and sell and redeem gift cards at the till.

Runs on devices you own

Chefzi POS works in the browser on a tablet, laptop or phone. It prints from Chrome to Bluetooth or USB ESC/POS receipt printers (58mm or 80mm), and falls back to the normal print dialog. Run a test print on your own printer before service.

Price

Chefzi is from £9 a month per location, or £19 a month with online card payments through Stripe (excluding VAT), with 0% commission, no setup fee and free migration. The POS is part of your Chefzi plan, with no separate POS subscription. Moving from GloriaFood before it closes on 30 April 2027? See the GloriaFood alternative and Chefzi pricing.

Questions

Does a takeaway need a separate EPOS and online ordering system?

Not with Chefzi. Phone and counter orders go through the till, online orders come in from your website, and both arrive in the same kitchen queue.

Can it handle phone orders for delivery?

Yes. Every till order is marked as collection, delivery or dine-in, and you can look up repeat customers by phone number.

Does it work if the internet drops?

If the connection drops, cash and pay-later sales queue on the device and sync when it's back. Card payments still need your card terminal.

How much is it?

Chefzi is from £9 a month per location, or £19 a month with online card payments through Stripe (excluding VAT), with 0% commission, no setup fee and free migration. The POS is part of your Chefzi plan, with no separate POS subscription.
